As an artist my instrument of choice is the guitar. From my early memories of iconic bands like the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, through the late sixties and 70s with musicians like Jimi Hendrix and bands such as Led Zeppelin and Queen, into the 80s with groups like the Police and Guns N’ Roses, and then into the 90s explosion of alternative rock and grunge with Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Smashing Pumpkins, Red Hot Chilli Peppers – It suffices to say that I’ve fallen in love with the guitar over and over again. I am sure this love affair is due to the guitar becoming a cultural icon of the modern age, and due to its history as a classical and folk instrument. For me it’s the gift that keeps giving.
‘Peter Black is a Master of the Guitar’
I fell in love with the Classical Guitar, in my late teens. I heard the wide range of beautiful sound worlds created by different composers from different countries and different times in history. This inspired a journey of learning, practice and dedication that continues to this day.
‘..I’ve played guitar all over the world in a famous band, but it really is such a joy to listen to a real guitarist like you’
If I only loved Classical guitar and great bands, then I really wouldn’t be me. I have, over the years been also fascinated by Folk Music, Latin, Flamenco, Jazz, Blues, and other styles of world music. I have always wanted to play what I love to hear so I have studied the guitar extensively and drawn influences from many teachers and artists to create the fusion of styles that I bring to my performances.

‘is one of those people that defies genres.. he takes the audience with him’
Today I also have a thriving teaching practice and perform regularly for agents, corporations, celebrities, organisations and people hosting events, parties, concerts and weddings. My most recent highlight was performing for Princess Zara and Mike Tindall and their guests in Kensington Palace.
Peter Black
‘is incredibly versatile, possibly more so than anybody we’ve seen’
What’s important and what’s obvious to me is that my core purpose is to make my music available to the world. Any less would be a cop out. Life has given me a gift and it’s my duty to share it around. If you’re reading this then you could well be helping me do that. If you want to work with me or buy any of my offerings, then I want to be providing something amazing and of value to you. Please know that by doing that, you are helping to make my dreams come true by supporting me in continuing my journey as an artist. Said another way, your support assists me to bring more of the music and passion, that life gave to me, into the world. You are also helping me to develop a new generation of artists for the future due to my work in teaching.
